Grow

Holy month Ramadhan, what is it for? Maybe most people will say that it is for increasing our piety to Allah SWT, to get forgiveness and grace, to understand poor people’s feeling when they are starving, or to fulfill our obligation as Moslem. I agree, absolutely agree, but personally I may add a point based on my experiences in some Ramadhan; it is to teach me how to grow up.

Ramadhan never ceases teaching me how to grow up.

Today is the second day of Ramadhan. The earth’s temperature is normal, the sun shines as usual, the sky is still blue, cloud is still white, and rice still can be eaten just like every day. The thing which is different on Ramadhan is only the activities of Muslims which tend to be more religious than usual. During daylight hours of Ramadhan Muslims refrain from eating, drinking and having sexual intercourse. The intention of Ramadhan is to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility, and submissiveness to God.
